Illuminart was approached to design the exterior and interior lighting for St. Joseph's Church in Novi, Michigan. The design accents the building's exterior after dark and provides flexibility for worship services inside the sanctuary.

Ambient light for seating areas is provided from a custom designed pendent lighting system. The soaring architecture is revealed by up lighting the vaulted ceiling from sources concealed on the top of wooden cross beams. A concealed track lighting system provides flexible lighting options for the alter and chancel to meet the needs of services. The chapel adjacent to the sanctuary features a faux skylight with 5000 Kelvin lamps to simulate sunlight during the daytime. After dark, warm incandescent light is used in the chapel.

The lighting system not only meets the needs of the various programs held in the sanctuary, but is also adequate for video taping of services and special events.
